Edinburgh Curling Club held their ten Centenary Bonspiels over Saturday and Sunday. Every participant received a centenary certificate, special scorecard and a centenary pin and although there were some rather high scores everyone enjoyed themselves by rounding off their games with a buffet and the usual socialising.  A great weekend was had by all.

The Midlothian Province Bonspiel took place yesterday with 76 teams spread over 34 different clubs taking part.  At the end of the day DAFS won the bonspiel with Mid Calder and Royal Bank of Scotland jointly claiming the Colin Black Trophy, which is presented to the rink which is highest up number of shots outwith the winning rink.  Well done to all participants.

Well done to Hannah Fleming and Abi Brown on winning the Scottish Juniors and good luck to them in Sweden.  Another well done, this time to Calum Harvey, Robin Aitken, Andrew Sommerville and Mike Blackwood who won "the Yara" last week in Perth. One downside to that was they knocked out Murrayfield curlers, Alan Russell, Graham Young and Jim Wilson in the semi-final. Jude McFarlane was also in the team.

After many have shown interest, there will now be a second Come & Try date this season - Saturday 25 February.  Registration will start at 7pm.  Cost will be £5 per person, all of which will be giving to the chosen  charity for this season.  Booking is essential - please call Debbie Kerr on 0131 337 4242.
